Results Report!

To all participants of the WC,

Hello! This is the Walking Challenge Office.
Thank you for your patience!
The tally for WC2023 is complete, and we are excited to share the results with you.

A record-breaking 4,925 people registered for this event.
Among them, the health benchmark of 8,000 steps/day was achieved
by 2,172 individuals (or groups, calculated by group average),
also setting a new record!

The intriguing total number of steps for one month was 1 billion 63 million 7,417 steps,
translating to a travel distance of about 800,000 kilometers at a rate of 80 cm per step!
This is more than double the distance to the moon, which is 384,000 km,
meaning we have effectively achieved the goal of a round trip to the moon!

In the rankings,
it appears that there was a surge in data entry in the last week,
as all teams significantly increased their average step counts.

The results are:
1st place: Kyoto Satoyama SDGs Lab (Kotosu)
2nd place: Fukuoka Institute of Technology
3rd place: Suzaku Seventh Autonomous Union.
For more details, please check the ranking page.

Regarding the JTB travel vouchers, which are the prizes,
a lottery has been conducted among those who achieved the 8,000 steps/day target,
and emails have been sent to the winners today.
Please check your mailbox with anticipation!

We truly appreciate the participation of so many people from all over the country.
We hope that this event, which focuses on the necessary 8,000 steps/day for health maintenance,
has provided an opportunity to reconsider health.

We plan to hold a similar event next year.
We look forward to your participation again.
