Results Report!

Hello to everyone participating in WC!
This is the WC Secretariat.
Thank you for your patience.
The aggregation for WC2025 has been completed, and we are pleased to share the results with you.

A total of 8,515 people signed up for this event, the largest number ever recorded.
Among them, 4,204 participants achieved the health benchmark of 8,000 steps per day
(for group participants, this was calculated using the group average).
This means that nearly half of all participants reached the target—the highest proportion to date.
The total number of steps taken over the month reached an impressive 1.8 billion steps.
Converted using 80 cm per step, this corresponds to roughly two round trips to the Moon.
Although the original goal was not fully reached, this result is, without doubt, another record high.

In the organizational rankings, many teams entered their data all at once during the final week,
leading to a significant increase in average step counts across all organizations.
The final rankings are as follows:

1st place: HYOGO MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
2nd place: Nippon Institute of Technology
3rd place: Doshisha University

The differences in average step counts were extremely small, clearly reflecting everyone’s dedication.
Remarkably, the top 13 universities all achieved an average of 8,000 steps per day,
an outstanding result. Other universities and organizations also came very close to this benchmark,
making the rankings highly competitive overall.

Regarding the JTB travel vouchers, a lottery has been conducted among those who achieved
8,000 steps per day, and the winners have already been notified by email.
Check your inbox with anticipation.

Once we receive comments from the winners after they receive their prizes,
we will update our website, so be sure to take a look.

We sincerely thank all participants from across the country for taking part.
We hope that this event, which encourages awareness of the 8,000 steps per day needed
to maintain good health, has provided an opportunity to reflect on personal health.

We plan to hold a similar event next year as well.
We look forward to your participation again.
